City Workers do it all!
These guys will do whatever they are asked to do, whether it is sweeping the streets or fixing a light at the finance office. In 2003, they remodeled the City Offices which houses the City Engineer, Finance Office, Police Department and Council Chambers. They put in many hardworking hours sanding, scooping and hauling snow through the winter and sweeping streets the rest of the year. Along with the City Engineer and the Finance Officer, they also spend a Saturday in April working the City-wide cleanup.
Listed below are just a few responsibilities of the Street Crew:
Snow plowing
Street sweeping
Maintenance on City vehicles and equipment
Chip sealing streets
Patching and maintaining streets
Assisting with construction of all new streets, curb and gutter
City-wide Clean-up
Mosquito spraying
Construction of City facilities such as the Cedar Heights Ballfield Complex which includes playground equipment, water fountain, concession stand, restrooms, etc.
